INTERACTIVE SESSION BETWEEN GOVERNOR MASARI AND JOURNALISTS
It's today that the Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari held an Interactive Session with Working Journalists in the state. Addressing journalist, by the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist Katsina State Chapter, Alhaji Buhari Mamman Daura said this Media Chat was introduced to make happenings in government to be known to the ordinary citizens of the Katsina State and for the government to hear the feelings at the grassroots.
The Chairman of the Media Chat Committee, Abduhamidu Sabo, Blueprint Newspaper Correspondent, expressed his gratitude to the Governor Masari for the opportunity given to working journalists to hold the interactive session with the Governor, assuring that the event will be covered as part of the one Year Anniversary of the APC Change Administration in the State.
During the Questions and Answers Session, Governor Masari said about Ten Billion Naira (N10 Billion) has been injected into the hands of individuals in the state, where Seventy Percent 70% of the funds goes to the payment of Pension and Gratuity of Retired Civil Servants, which affected the Lives of the masses. Governor Masari also said Sixty Five Billion Naira (N65 Billion) was received by the Katsina State Government from the Federation Account since the inception of APC administration in the State.
However, Governor Masari said due to the shortfall in Revenue from the Federation Account, even this Month, the State Government had to source Eight Hundred Million Naira (N800 Million) to effect payment of salaries for Staff of Local Governments and Teachers.
His Excellency, Rt Hon. Aminu Bello Masari took more than two hours to explain the journey so far of the Present Administration in its Restoration Agenda on Education; said the contracts was awarded for rehabilitation of infrastructures and provision of learning materials for both Primary and Secondary Schools across the state, Health; contract was awarded for remodeling and rehabilitation, equipping the three General Hospitals of three Geographical Zones of the State and other Health outlets. Agriculture; procurement of fertilizer for Wet and Dry Season Farmers, Security; tackling the menace of the cattle rustling that became a devastating problem to the people living in the Rural Areas and restoring peace in the some areas of the state. Water Supply; ongoing project of the Ajiwa Dam Water Work to supply portable drinking water to the Katsina metropolis, the successful completion of the Malumfashi and Kankara Water Work, the ongoing Zobe Dam Water Work Project to supply portable water piping through the Kankiya, Charanci LGAs and Eleven other LGAs. And Human Capital Development based on the resources available to the Government within the last ten Months of the APC Administration.
